By Cricket FanNew Zealand to wait on all-rounder Nathan MMcCullum’s fitness and face Kenya in New Zealand’s World Cup opener after being discharged from hospital. The Black Caps all-rounder was a serious doubt for Sunday’s Group A match after suffering from illness.
The 30-year-old spent the night in a local Chennai hospital but was permitted to join Saturday’s practice session and could be available for the game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Captain Daniel Vettori is hopeful of including McCullum against Kenya, but admits the team management is still in two minds whether to risk using the off-spinner.
